Collaborations

Our built environment is in a constant state of transformation. Social developments become visible through changes on a scale as vast as an industrial landscape and as intimate as a single shop on a local street. In the transitional phase between a site’s former use and its future, a space is often left abandoned. These abandoned spaces tend to be overlooked as long as they do not serve a new commercial function. Yet it is precisely these spaces that carry stories, memories and meanings of great value to local communities.

My recent work is grounded in the conviction that such sites do not need to be “reprogrammed” in order to become meaningful. Instead, they can function as artworks in their own right: as spaces for imagination, encounter and revaluation. By approaching existing spaces as potential artworks, I investigate how imagination, participation and artistic intervention can contribute to new forms of meaning-making and engagement, without predetermined outcomes or instrumental objectives.

I am interested in collaborations with communities, curators, activists and others who are engaged with spatial transformations. If my practice resonates with you, feel free to contact me to discuss ideas.
